At Jeffery Mini Donkeys, our commitment is to breed healthy, well-socialized miniature donkeys. This Health Guarantee outlines the health status of your new donkey at the time of sale and details the responsibilities of both parties. This document is a critical component of your final sales contract.
Seller’s Commitment
We guarantee that, to the best of our knowledge, all donkeys leaving our farm are in sound health and free from contagious diseases at the time of sale.
  • Pre-Sale Veterinary Exam: Every donkey undergoes a comprehensive examination by our licensed veterinarian immediately prior to joining its new family.
  • Health Records: You will receive complete written health documentation, including vaccination records (Tetanus, Flu, and Rhino), deworming history, and a recent negative Coggins test certificate.
  • Disclosure: We commit to full disclosure of any known past injuries, chronic health issues, or behavioral concerns before the sale is finalized.
  • Identification: All donkeys are permanently identified via microchip, the number of which will be recorded on all official paperwork.
Buyer’s Responsibilities and Guarantee Window
The buyer assumes all responsibility for the donkey’s health and well-being immediately upon departure from Jeffery Mini Donkeys.
  • Mandatory Veterinary Check: The buyer must have the donkey examined by a licensed veterinarian within three (3) business days of taking possession. This visit, at the buyer’s expense, officially validates this guarantee.
  • Serious Health Concerns: If a licensed veterinarian discovers a life-threatening, pre-existing genetic or congenital condition within this three-day window, the buyer must provide Jeffery Mini Donkeys with a written statement from the examining vet detailing the diagnosis.
  • Resolution: In such a verified case, the buyer may return the donkey to us for a full refund of the purchase price or an exchange for an equivalent donkey, at our discretion. Transportation costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
 
Exclusions and Limitations
This guarantee is void if the mandatory vet check is not performed within the specified timeframe. This guarantee does not cover:
  • Common stress-related ailments (e.g., shipping fever, minor colds, or diarrhea) that are typical when adjusting to a new environment.
  • Conditions or injuries that occur after the donkey leaves our premises, including those resulting from buyer negligence, improper feed management, accidents, or lack of recommended preventative care.
  • Obesity/Laminitis issues arising from improper diet management post-sale.
By purchasing a donkey from Jeffery Mini Donkeys, the buyer agrees to provide a safe environment, appropriate feed, necessary shelter, routine farrier care, and a suitable companion animal to ensure the donkey’s welfare.
