Shipping and Delivery

Shipping and Delivery

At Jeffery Mini Donkeys, the health and safety of our miniature donkeys during transport are paramount. We work closely with buyers to ensure a smooth and stress-free transition from our farm to yours.
Buyer Responsibility for Transport
It is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange and cover all costs associated with shipping and delivery of their new donkey. We do not handle the logistics of transport directly, but we are committed to facilitating a seamless handover.
Pickup Options
You are welcome to pick up your donkey directly from our farm (located in [Insert Your City, State]) once the final payment has cleared. We will coordinate a mutually convenient date and time for pickup. Please ensure your transport vehicle (trailer, horse stock trailer, etc.) is clean, safe, and appropriate for hauling livestock.
Working with Professional Shippers
For buyers who are unable to pick up in person, we strongly recommend using a reputable, licensed, and insured professional livestock transporter.
  • Veterinary Inspection Certificate (CVIX): We can coordinate with a state-approved veterinarian to obtain all required interstate Certified Veterinary Inspection (CVIX) paperwork needed for transport across state lines. The cost of this paperwork and the associated vet visit is the responsibility of the buyer (typically around $X, to be paid in advance).
  • Shipper Coordination: Once you have booked your transport provider, we will communicate directly with them regarding pickup schedules, health paper handovers, and any specific care instructions for your donkey during transit.
Preparation for Travel
All donkeys will be freshly groomed, have current health records compiled, and be ready for transport on the agreed-upon date. We ensure they are healthy and fit for travel as verified by our pre-sale veterinary examination.
Important Note on Stress:
Transport can be a stressful time for any animal. While we take every precaution on our end, minor issues like shipping fever, stress-induced diarrhea, or a temporary loss of appetite are potential risks during transit. We encourage buyers to prepare a quiet, comfortable, and clean holding area for their donkey upon arrival with easy access to fresh water and hay.
Please reach out to us well in advance of your desired delivery date so we can coordinate all necessary health certifications and logistics.
